Memory Problems

It turns out I really don’t remember well the syntax of GML……that’s what I get for having a 2 month break and only writing in Java before that for months.

So I have spent an insanely silly amount of time making a basic menu…….or rather making very basic buttons. I am reminded that I need to spend time and make clean code and put it into my Asset Repository to make life easier in the future.

It’s 5:37pm AEST now…….the day has flow by so fast. Still my document says 1 menu + 1 room is minimal viable product. I’ve still got tonight and tomorrow to make 1 room.

My neighbours just messaged me, invited me for dinner tonight in about an hour. They are lovely. Everyone should have sweet, beautiful and lovely older neighbours.

I am very aware my code is not at all efficient :P

And apparently the smallest Microsoft’s Snipping Tool could make this GIF was 5mb, itch.io has a max size of 3mb so just had to go use https://www.freeconvert.com/gif-compressor/ to make it smaller just to include it here.

What’s surprised me is how much jumping about I’ve had to do to make things work. Still I think I’m in a good spot for more work tonight. And I was going to repair my friend’s blanket this weekend lol.

Next up, 1 Room, 1 hole, 1 block, 1 size changing option, 1 player. Technically that’s minimum viable product. Get to MVP and then see what I can do from there.

EDIT: I’ll take your name suggestions also, and silly ideas too. Perhaps see what I can add on top of MVP
